Carlos Santana is the most famous South American musician in the world with a Afro-Latin-Blues guitar sound that is truly unmistakable. After a childhood playing mariachi music in Tijuana stripjoints, Santana moved to San Francisco and formed a multi-racial eponymous band that emerged from the late 60s West Coast scene to play a rapturously received set at Woodstock.
