Robben Ford

The third in River's series of Robben Ford releases comes from 1997, neatly fitting in between River’s other two Robben Ford albums released to date “Handful Of Blues” (Rivercd063) from 1995 and “The Authorized Bootleg” (Rivercd064) from 1998.

On this outing Robben reverts from his more bluesy style to all-out jazz funk. Much of the funk influence is supplied by the legendary keyboards of Bernie Worrell (who also appears on Jesse Rae-The Thistle, RiverCD004).

If you like instrumental, jazz-rock, wah wah pedal heavy guitar in the style of Jeff Beck’s “Blow By Bow” and “Wired”, then this album is a must. As ever, with all River artiste re-issues, buy the set!
