In the 1980s John Martyn took a new direction, plugging in his electric guitar and playing in a unique style which incorporated elements of jazz, funk and rock. This was a bold move for the performer who until then had been associated with acoustic guitar and the jazz-folk idiom. The Bottom Line is an intimate venue in New York and at this concert from 1983 John featured material from his early eighties albums and the song 'Anna' which has never before been released on an album. |
