Gordon Giltrap

Live At The Symphony Hall is Gordon’s most recent recording and was recorded in March 2005 at the Birmingham Symphony Hall during one of Gordon’s many live concert appearances.

This release employs the popular new dual disc format with the audio portion on one side and the DVD on the other side. Gordon is joined on this concert date by the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra and special guests such as Raymond Burley, Rod Edwards, Gilly Darbey and Yes keyboardist Rick Wakeman.

Gordon Giltrap is perhaps at his best in front of a live audience and this recording is no exception. The concert saw the performance of Gordon’s rhapsody Eye Of The Wind which was written between 1978 and 1980 to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Sir Francis Drake’s circumnavigation of the world.
