Early in 1994 Capercaillie were working on new ideas with producer Will Mowat (writer and keyboard programmer for Soul II Soul). The initial recordings during these sessions 'When You Return' and 'Alasdair Mhic Cholla Ghasda' encouraged them to explore further the textures and rhythms of contemporary club beats. This resulted in 'Capercaillie' perhaps their most adventurous album to date.
