Capercaillie's seventh album further developed their unique sound, marrying Gaelic melody with contemporary beats. A number of the tracks on this album have remained in the band's live set over the years.

'Secret People' consolidated and confirmed the band's skills reinventing Celtic traditional tunes with a more contemporary feel. This modern fusion was to be further extended on the CD 'Capercaillie' released in 1994 but until then 'Secret People' reveals some memorable melodies and, as ever, superb musicianship.
